In Azerbaijan currency exchange offices continue to operate only in tourist facilities, particularly in hotels and airports.
"In recent days, due to the growth of operations with currency exchange, the Central Bank has restricted and stopped the activities of currency exchange offices, for effective and efficient regulation of the operations of commercial banks, as well as strengthening control over the operations and cost optimization," Trend cites the official message.
According to the chief financial regulator, the banks have a sufficiently well-developed branch network, so the population will be fully provided with currency exchange services.
