UFC president Dana White said that the UFC 249 will take place, but Lightweight Champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov is officially out of the fight.
"The card is happening but Khabib is out," White wrote on Twitter.
He promised to announce the entire card "tomorrow."
UFC 249 was supposed to take place on April 18 in Brooklyn, N.Y., but the coronavirus pandemic has caused a mad scramble to find a new location for the card while keeping the same date.
Earlier, Nurmagomedov has been trapped in his homeland of Dagestan, Russia, ending any chance of his appearance at UFC 249.
