Filtering on Telegram and Instagram social networks is temporary and will end on January 5, a member of Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alireza Rahimi said.
Rahimi made the remarks today in a Telegram message while elaborating on a Monday meeting of Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.
"The meeting aimed at evaluating cyber sector, internal and external provocations, US position and Saudi Arabia provocative moves, national media approach towards recent incidents and also future developments," IRNA cited him as saying.
"The filtering of the two mentioned social networks is likely to be removed on Friday," Rahimi added.
Iran has restricted access to the Instagram and Telegram social media apps as a security measure during rare anti-government protests on December 31.
