Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has started talks with the leader of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), Selahattin Demirtas. The meeting will focus on discussing the process of a democratic settlement of the Kurdish problem which started in 2009, TRT Haber news channel reports.
Earlier, Turkey’s prime minister held a meeting with the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahceli, and of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
As a result of the elections in June, the ruling Justice and Development Party garnered 40.9% of the votes, the Republican People’s Party (CHP) – 25%, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) – 16.3%, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) – 13.1%, Trend reports.
