Social tensions in Armenia have increased due to rising electricity prices. Tonight demonstrators on Baghramyan Avenue presented an ultimatum to the country's leadership, which were announced by one of the coordinators of the movement, Davit Sanasaryan, in front of hundreds of people.
"We will not unblock Baghramyan Avenue. We will wait till Monday night. If any of our demands is not met, we will take a step up and every day we will push forward a barricade of garbage containers in the direction of the presidential palace,’’ Tass cites him.
Sanasaryan believes that activists should carry out "peaceful but challenging steps in the direction of the authorities.’’ He appealed to the representatives of the Diaspora to organize a protest at embassies of Armenia in different countries.
Demonstrators in Yerevan have also decided to support their colleagues in Gyumri, who also continue to protest with them. Today, representatives of the movement 'No robbery!' should arrive in Gyumri.
"We are going to discuss our next steps, hear the opinion of the regions," an activist of the Sophia movement said. She promised that the movement will unite all like-minded people all over the country, and a network will be created in order to coordinate their efforts.
