Dina Averina wins qualification with ribbon at World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku

In Baku, at the National Gymnastics Arena, the qualification in individual exercises with clubs and ribbon of the 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships ended.

Russian athlete Dina Averina showed the best result in the exercise with a ribbon: the judges rated her performance by 21.7 points.

A representative of Israel Lina Ashram became the second with 21.150 points and Ukrainian gymnast Vlada Nikolchenko got to the finals with a similar result.

Russian athlete  Ekaterina Selezneva, representative of Italy Milena Baldassari, athletes from Belarus Anastasia Salos and Alina Gornosko, as well as American Laura Zeng qualified for the finals.

Ranking 6th Russian athlete Arina Averina did not get to the finals due to the restrictions on the number of gymnasts from one country.

The finals of the exercises with a ribbon will begin at 19.05 Moscow time. At 19.40 Moscow time, the awarding ceremony will be held.

This week, on September 16-22, the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships is held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. The tournament is the qualification competition for the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo. More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries are competing for nine sets of medals. The motto of the tournament is “Fairy tales will come to life”.
