On the eve of the referendum on the amendment to the Turkish constitution that will be held on April 16, the Turkish website ahaber.com published an article on the contradictions between the presidents and coalition governments in different periods, beginning with the founding of the Turkish Republic.
So, referring to the beginning of the early 1990s, the differences between the 8th President of Turkey Turkut Ozal and Prime Minister Suleyman Demirel influenced the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The article says that after the political restrictions for the leaders were abolished, Demil again appeared on the political stage. He used behind-the-scenes intrigues to strike his main rival Ozal.
"Despite all Ozal's attempts, Demirel prevented the provision of assistance to Azerbaijan during the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, which led to the death of thousands of Azerbaijanis, and as a result, Armenia occupied Nagorno-Karabakh," the website writes.
