Does ENM return to Georgians’ hearts?

Political party Georgian Dream and United National Movement (UNM) are almost equally supported by Georgia's population, the sociological survey conducted by the research company GFK on order by Rustavi 2.

According to the rating, the ruling party Georgian Dream is supported by 35.9% of respondents. Another 34.2% of respondents give their preference to the former ruling party - United National Movement. The party of famous opera singer Paata Burchuladze is in the third place with 9.8%.

Then Labor Party headed by Shalva Natelashvili with 5.4%, the party of ex-Defense Minister, Irakli Alasania, Free Democrats with 4.5%, Alliance of Patriots of Georgia led by the founder of the TV Objective Company, Irma Inashvili, with 2.4% and the party of ex-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Nino Burjanadze, United Democratic Movement with 2.2%. 

They are followed by Republican Party - 0.7%, new political center Girchi - 0.5%, Civic Platform New Georgia - 0.5%.

Head of the Center for Security Studies and International Relations, Nika Chitadze, told in an interview with a Vestnik Kavkaza correspondent that the surveys conducted earlier by several international organizations, including the National Democratic Institute and the International Republican Institute, also showed that the UNM is the main opposition party in Georgia.

"Certainly, it is desirable that the rating of other Western-oriented parties was also higher, as in this case they would be able to overcome the 5% barrier and receive seats in the parliament. But according to today's survey, the main struggle will be between the two main political parties - Georgian dream and United national movement,’ the MP summed up.
