The head of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Daniyar Akishev, denied information about work on the common currency of EAEU.
"For us, 2015 is the first year of operation of the Eurasian Economic Union. And the contract that is the basis for the functioning of the Union does not contain any rules on the introduction of a common supranational currency in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. Accordingly, these measures are not being discussed," he said .
Earlier, the chairman of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, stated that the countries of the EAEU conduct hard work on the creation of a common currency for payments within the Union. According to him, it could be called Evraz, RIA Novosti reported.
