ECB holds its benchmark interest rate at zero

The European Central Bank (ECB) left its benchmark refinancing rate on hold at a record low of 0.0% on April 21st 2016.

The marginal lending facility rate was kept at 0.25% and the bank deposit rate at minus 0.4%.

Earlier the ECB President Mario Draghi said that the bank would not rule out future cuts in policy rates.
