Eurasian Economic Union plans to create a common reinsurance structure for the Commonwealth countries, with which insurance companies will be able to share the assumed risks, the 'Concept on creation of a reinsurance capacity in the EEU and removal of barriers to cross-border reinsurance' says.
It is reported that the structure will take those risks, which reinsurance within each EEU member state is impossible or impractical.
A common reinsurance structure will also take on the risk of possible disasters.
The Financial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Tigran Davtyan, said that these actions will help to partially solve the problem of shortage of reinsurance capacities, as well as reduce currency risks, Kommersant reports.
