EU imposes new sanctions against Russia

The European Union issued a statement approving a new package of sanctions against Russia. Three Russian banks and 96 organizations supporting the country's military-industrial complex were included in the black list.

The EU Council issued a statement approving the next package of sanctions against Russia. 96 organizations are the subject to restrictions.

The package will enter into force after publication in the official journal, at the same time, the lists of individuals and legal entities that are under restrictions will be made public.

"Today's decision expands the list of organizations directly supporting Russia's military-industrial complex by another 96 organizations," the statement reads.

Also, three Russian banks fell under the sanctions, though, what exactly, is not disclosed. They will be subject to an asset freeze and a ban on the provision of funds and resources.
