In the spring of 2016 the EU may lift the sanctions imposed against a number of former Ukrainian officials.
In total, the EU sanctions list included 18 people: former President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych and 17 members of his entourage.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the sanctions may be lifted due to the fact that the individuals who are on the restrictive lists of EU and who are still in Ukraine were not charged in their homeland.
"During the year all these people will receive free access to their assets in the West. After that, no one else will support the introduction of sanctions against them. Many EU officials are fed up with Ukraine," the publication leads the words of an unnamed official of one of the Western countries, TASS writes.
