An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 points struck China at 11:15 am Almaty time (05:15 a.m. GMT), while tremors were felt in several Kazakh cities, the Seismological Experimental-Methodical Expedition of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan said.
The epicenter of the quake was located 757 kilometers to the east of the city of Almaty at a depth of 5 kilometers.
The Kazakh cities of Zaysan, Taldykorgan and Zharkent could sense the underground tremors of 2-3 points.
There was no information about possible victims or damage, Trend reports.
