An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 occurred in East Azerbaijan Province, injuring eight people, local authorities said.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of University of Tehran, the quake was registered at 03:44 local time.
The epicenter was located 100 km of Tabriz.
Director General of Crisis Management in East Azarbaijan province, Khalil Saei, said that the earthquake destroyed a lot of buildings.
