The construction of the El Dabaa nuclear power plant is ahead of schedule, despite the geopolitical situation in the world, Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov said.

A nuclear power plant is being built in the Matrouh Governorate on the Mediterranean coast, 350 km from Cairo. There will be four power units with Russian VVER-1200 reactors that will supply almost 4.8 GW of electricity to the grid.

The construction of the first two nuclear power units began in 2022. The construction of the remaining two units will begin later this year.
