In Egypt, VAT refunds to tourists are to be carried out according to the standard international scheme, and the launch of the new tax-free system is planned to be accelerated.
The facilities, where tourists will be refunded before leaving the country, will be opened at international airports. The first such place will appear in Sharm el-Sheikh, presumably in November.
It will be possible to benefit from a tax-free scheme with purchases worth more than 1,500 Egyptian pounds (4,700 rubles).
Currently, VAT refunds in Egypt are too complicated and time-consuming. Thus, tourists do not take advantage of this opportunity.
