Today the VK studio was visited by one of the most prominent participants in the project 'The Voice Russia', Emil Kadyrov. In an interview with the VK correspondent he summed up the results of his participation in the TV show and spoke about his future plans, as well as the impact of Muslim Magomayev’s works and Azerbaijani national music have had on him.
"I am very lucky that I participated in the Voice show.’’ More than 12,000 people submitted requests to participate in the project. There were a lot of gifted participants, but only a few of them managed to reach the quarterfinals. So it is a great success for me to participate in the quarterfinals. The attitude is very subjective at this stage of the competition. Moreover, a huge number of viewers, thousands of people, voted for me. It is great to receive such a large number of people over the course of four programs giving support,'' he said.
Emil Kadyrov spoke about why he decided to sing the song 'Blue Eternity' by Muslim Magomayev. ''Muslim Magomayev’s works mean a lot to me. It was thanks to his songs that I heard in early childhood, for example, in the Bremen Musicians cartoon, that I started singing and decided to engage in music. Therefore, it was a significant event for me to sing a song by Muslim Magomayev. I was dreaming about it for a long time, and my dream has come true. It's a great responsibility and very exciting to sing the song,'' the musician said.
According to Emil Kadyrov, Muslim Magomayev is an example for him, as he performed a lot of different music. "He is the first person in the Soviet Union who began to sing in English. He sang a lot of songs in Russian, English and Italian. So I would like to continue the tradition of diversity,’’ the singer said.
He also drew attention to the fact that the participation in the TV show opened up new opportunities. "It's a huge audience, the whole country and Europe. Everyone who watched 'The Voice', all those who liked my work come to my concerts, write messages on social networks and leave comments. Therefore, participation in the project has given a huge boost to my work and my concert activity,'' the singer said. He also drew attention to the fact he was supported not only by his relatives, but the whole country, the whole of Azerbaijan during the competition. ''I was supported by my hometown – Baku. A lot of people continue to call me and write words of support up to now,'' the singer said.
In addition, he spoke about his favourite genre of music. "I enjoy good, high-quality music. I perform only such music. Certainly, I like Azerbaijani national music. It runs in my blood. I love this kind of music and I try to sing songs in the Azerbaijani language when I perform. I also use national instruments and make interesting arrangements,’’ the musician said.
The singer said that now he is planning to organize a tour in Russia. ''I have plans to organize a performance in Baku, but it is not as easy as it seems. It requires some investment, as well as solving organizational moments," the singer said. In addition, he pointed out where he plans to build his career. "Azerbaijan is my home. I am always happy to arrive there. At the same time, I try not to focus on one city, or one country. Yes, now I live in Moscow. But if I am invited to perform I get on a plane and I am in Baku in two hours. So I am here and there now,'' Emil Kadyrov concluded.
