Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan assessed the situation in Europe and the status of European integration. His words are quoted in an interview with Newsweek.

"Europe is facing a much bigger threat. This indicates that the notion of European integration is losing ground, and those who oppose the established order in Europe are gaining more support in society. This is due to the fact that European politicians are violating and stretching values established by themselves for various purposes",

Erdoğan said.

Today the seeds sown with these incorrect attitudes are now beginning to grow in Europe, and politicians are using racist and anti-Islamic rhetoric to gain votes.

"The far right is moving through the door that is opened by double standards, disregarding human rights violations on a variety of grounds",

Erdoğan said.
