Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged to solve the Kerch Strait conflict through dialogue.
"At some point, it looked as if the situation in the Black Sea had calmed down, but recently the conflict flared up again, which upset us," the Turkish leader said in parliament. His speech was broadcast by Turkey’s NTV television news channel.
"Both countries, Russia and Ukraine, are our close friends. We want the Black Sea to be the sea of peace," TASS cited him as saying.
Erdogan called on Russia and Ukraine to solve the existing problems through dialogue, stressing that Turkey would be "glad to see Russia and Ukraine working shoulder to shoulder" instead of being hostile to each other.
