Erdogan orders the creation of an interim government

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today conveyed a mandate for the creation of an interim government, which will work until early parliamentary elections, to the Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, the Presidential Administration reported.

"Today the President met with the Prime Minister and, according to the Turkish Constitution, ordered him to form an interim government," RIA Novosti quotes a message of the Administration.

Five days are given for the formation of an interim government.

Associate Professor of the Faculty of International Relations at the University TOBB University of Economics and Technology (Ankara), Togrul Ismail, in an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza stressed that the only task of the interim government is to organize and hold new parliamentary elections. "It will not perform any major tasks, I think. Given that this cabinet will last only until the beginning of November (the president wants them to be held on November 1), you should not expect any serious actions from this government," he explained.
