The agreement on establishing a buffer zone in the Syrian province of Idlib, reached by the Russian and Turkish leaders is historic as it gives hope for peace in the Middle East region, Yasin Aktay, the Turkish presidential adviser, told Sputnik on Wednesday, UrduPoint reported.
On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed to set up a demilitarized zone in Idlib by October 15.
"The agreement on Idlib reached by Russia and Turkey could be seen as historic, it promises peace in the region and rebuilds Syria on the basis of peace and in accordance with human rights," Aktay said.
