Euro drops below 80 rubles first time since summer 2020

The euro fell by 1.45% to 80.26 rubles on the Moscow Exchange on Friday.

As of 13:38 Moscow time, the euro fell to 79.98 rubles (-1.8%). The last time the euro exchange rate was below the level of 80 rubles was in July 2020. The dollar exchange rate as of 13:50 Moscow time fell to 75.2 rubles (-0.72%).

As of 13:58 Moscow time, the MOEX index was 2,608.6 points (-1.02%), the RTS rose to 1,098.53 points (+0.56%).

The price of the June futures for Brent crude oil on London’s ICE fell by 0.04% to $100.54 per barrel. WTI oil rose by 0.21% to $99.23 per barrel.
