Eurogroup keeps Greece in eurozone

The leaders of the 19 eurozone countries have decided at their summit to keep Greece in the community. The eurozone leaders had been meeting in Brussels for about 17 hours and decided to launch a new third bailout, TASS reports.

French President Francois Hollande earlier said that the agreement reached at the summit will allow Greece to stay in the eurozone. According to Hollande, European leaders achieved the main objective of the negotiations – to preserve the eurozone's integrity, unity and solidarity.

"One of the objectives of the emergency summit was to restore hope for the Greek people," the French president said.

European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker said that the European Commission will provide a 35-billion-euro support package to Greece.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Greece may receive 82-86 billion euros in three years.

EU President Donald Tusk, in his turn, said that "Eurozone finance ministers will also urgently discuss how to help Greece meet its financial needs in the short term, so-called bridge-financing."
