The internal radicalization of the inhabitants of the European Union is one of the most complex problems of unification, which arises in the fight against terrorism, the European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos said in Brussels upon arrival at the meeting of the EU foreign ministers.
"Internal radicalization, and we will discuss this, is one of the most important problems that we face," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
According to European experts, roughly 3000 EU citizens are believed to be fighting on behalf of Islamist groups in Syria.
