Ex-Bulgarian president urges Armenia to withdraw from Azerbaijan's territories

Peace is achievable only when all countries observe the common rules and respect each other's borders, the former Bulgarian president Rosen Plevneliev said, speaking about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict at the 5th Global Baku Forum, the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reports.

"We all want peace, but peace is possible only when everyone complies with the rules and respects the inviolability of borders. Peace is impossible if countries suffer from the violation of their borders. Azerbaijan has a full right to control its territories," he stressed.

"People and the leadership of Azerbaijan have every right to point out the problem of double standards. We are against double standards. The rules of the world order should concern Armenia as well, therefore we urge Armenia to return to its territory and implement the UN Security Council resolutions," Rosen Plevneliev said.

"Peace will be achievable only when everyone, including Armenia, adheres to the rules, in particular, the decisions of the UN Security Council. We call for respect for international law," the ex-President of Bulgaria concluded.

In addition, the politician expressed gratitude to the leadership of Azerbaijan for what Baku is doing for Europe and Bulgaria in particular. "We remember many large projects that have not been implemented. And only Azerbaijan shows us an example of political will, being a reliable partner," he stressed.
