The extradition process of Armenian citizen Hrachya Harutyunyan, who was convicted in Russia, has started, Armenia's Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Krmoyan said.
According to him, Armenia's Ministry of Justice is making efforts, together with Russian counterparts, so that this process will conclude as soon as possible, News.am reported.
Krmoyan, however, did not specify a clear date as to when Harutyunyan will be extradited to Armenia.
The truck, which Hrachya Harutyunyan was driving, crashed into a passenger bus in July 2013 near Russia's Podolsk. The accident claimed 18 lives, and more than 60 people were injured. The Armenian driver was sentenced to 6 years and 9 months in prison.
