The US FBI has agreed to provide expert assistance in the investigation into the passenger plane crash in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt at the request of Moscow, the New York Times reported, citing unnamed senior US officials.
According to some of them, Russia wants to get help in carrying out expert and forensic analysis to determine what led to the crash of the liner. Other US officials claim that the request is of a more general nature, Interfax cited the newspaper.
US representatives are considering Moscow's request as evidence of the difficulties faced by investigators, local media noted.
