FSB Director describes IS as a terrorist ram

The Director of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, said at a meeting of the council of the heads of the security services of the CIS member states that the terrorist group IS has gained momentum under the "double standards of certain world powers trying to reach their own goals in Asia and Africa with the help of a 'terrorist ram'."

According to him, "the gang" emerged from the "notorious Arab Spring."

“They are creating autonomous combat operation cells, ready to stage terror and subversive acts. The terrorists and their sponsors aim to destabilize the situation in CIS countries," TASS cited Bortnikov as saying.
