Chairman of the Senate Committee on Social Policy, Valery Ryazansky has noted that the decision by authorities of the Krasnodar Territory to cancel travel privileges for retirees was ill-conceived, the press service of the Federation Council reports.
"Before you make such decisions you should understand who will remain without benefits. Employed and unemployed pensioners and disabled may be among this category of citizens. Certainly, the state cannot provide everybody with social assistance and benefits, as it had been before in the country, but the principle of need should be taken into account in the particular case,'' Interfax cites him as saying.
