Imports of grain and fertilizers should be continued with payment in rubles, Andrei Klishas, head of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation, says.
Earlier it became known that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation planned to discuss with the countries of the Middle East and North Africa the possibility of switching to settlements for deliveries at tenders in rubles. In addition to this, it is planned to exclude European banks from the settlement mechanism.
"(Switching to payment in rubles) for the supply of grain, fertilizers - all for rubles", Klishas wrote on his Telegram channel, supporting this idea.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had said that the transition to rubles and national currencies of partner countries in foreign trade must be accelerated.
