First Azerbaijan's autumn gifts opens in Moscow

An official opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan's autumn gifts festival took place in Tverskaya Square today in Moscow. According to the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, Head of the Moscow Department of Trade and Services Alexei Nemeryuk and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbul oglu addressed the ceremony.

Welcoming the guests, Alexei Nemeryuk noted that it's ideal weather for holding the Days of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian capital. "Best Azerbaijani manufacturers came here to show the Muscovites their products that the republic is proud of. I am very grateful to Ambassador Polad Bulbul oglu for organizing this event," he said.

"Visitors are also offered master classes and the entertainment show. I hope that a great number of guests will be able to see all the best that representatives of Azerbaijan have prepared today. Hopefully, this event will become regular. Welcome!” Nemeryuk concluded.

Polad Bulbul oglu, in turn, thanked the Moscow authorities for the opportunity to hold a festival on Tverskaya Square. "First of all, I would like to thank the government of Moscow, especially Sergey Sobyanin for this opportunity. You all know that there are good-neighborly, strategic, partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. We are pleased that Moscow holds a special place in these relations. An official visit of Sergei Semenovich to Baku was paid, during which very productive negotiations took place. Today's exhibition is evidence of good relations that have developed between the government of Moscow and the government of Azerbaijan, between Baku and Moscow," he stressed.

"I especially want to thank the Heydar Aliyev Foundation led by Mehriban Aliyeva for the excellent organization. This exhibition could not have been held without the help of the Foundation. The Foundation does a lot of work all over the world, and as ambassador to the Russian Federation, I am glad that there are a lot of Fund’s activities are held in Moscow," Polad Bulbul oglu concluded.

Speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, Aleksey Nemeryuk noted the significance of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the capital’s life. "A large number of Azerbaijanis live in Moscow, and historically there are branches in which we cannot do without Azerbaijanis. Of course, we are very pleased that the ambassador pays great attention to this, and in general there is close interaction between Moscow and Azerbaijan. I hope that this exhibition will become a regular event," the head of the Moscow Department of Trade and Services said.

Polad Bulbul oglu reported on the progress of the restoration of the pavilion of Azerbaijan at VDNKh. "It was also a good initiative of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, about which he told our President Ilham Aliyev. Now the restoration process is almost over. We will agree with the mayor's office to open the pavilion next year, closer to spring. VDNH is visited by a lot of people, and we will be very happy that the pavilion of Azerbaijan will resume its work there. It is preserved in the form it was opened in the 50s, including the entire architecture and mosaic," the Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia noted.

On October 17-21, the 'Azerbaijan's autumn gifts' festival will take place on Tverskaya Street. Muscovites and guests of the capital will be offered the entertainment show and cooking classes. The guests will be able to taste persimmons, pomegranates, seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as traditional Azerbaijani dishes: baked tandoor cakes, kebab with Narsharab pomegranate sauce, qutab with meat stuffing, green stuffing or cheese stuffing. The exhibition is open daily from 11:00 to 20:00.
