First ever NATO country agreed to Russia's security demands

The United States has notified Moscow about its readiness to discuss Russia’s inspection of NATO’s bases in Poland and Romania on the issue of an alleged deployment of Tomahawk intermediate-range cruise missiles, Bloomberg reported citing unnamed sources.

"U.S. told Kremlin it's willing to discuss giving Russia a way to verify there aren’t Tomahawk cruise missiles stationed at NATO bases in Romania and Poland - on condition Russia shares similar info on certain bases in Russia," the report reads.

The proposal seeks to allay Moscow's concerns the launchers could be used against it, Bloomberg reported.

Sources close to Biden told Bloomberg the proposal would only come to fruition upon agreement with American allies, especially Poland and Romania.

Romania maintains it has an open invitation for Kremlin leaders to visit its facility, assuming Russia offered a reciprocity. Poland has also indicated it could agree to anti-missile checks by Russia in exchange for inspections at the Kaliningrad enclave on the Polish border.
