The Central Bank of Azerbaijan plans to lower the minimum capital ratio requirement for banks to 10% from the current 12%, Fitch Ratings said.
“A sharp decline in the manat hit local banks' capital ratios via inflation of foreign currency-denominated risk-weighted assets, and in some cases, significant translation losses on unhedged short open currency positions,” Trend cited the message as saying.
