Flood victims in Tbilisi to get $40 thousand from Placebo

The website Indiegogo, which raises funds for charity, said it has received $39,974 from Placebo to help Tbilisi recover from the recent flooding.

The musicians decided to donate money for a performance at Tbilisi Open Air.

Earlier, bass player Stefan Olsdal was in an awkward situation, unsuccessfully joking about the flood. He posted a photo of the hippo that escaped from a zoo on his Instagram page. "This is a hippo on the loose in Tbilisi. Placebo is playing there in a few weeks. Can't wait to join the circus," Georgia Online cited the musician as saying.

Later, he deleted the picture and published a new picture instead. "I did not realize the true effects of what had happened," Olsdal said.
