The Kazakh authorities intend to make the republic the center of economic growth and stability in Central Asia, adhering to the principle of equality and mutually beneficial cooperation in the relations between the states of the region, the Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said.
The press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said that Abdrakhmanov visited Paris on March 28-29 on the invitation of the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, Jean-Marc Ayrault. A key event of the working visit was a joint meeting of foreign ministers of France, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and the countries of Central Asia.
"We are aimed at making Kazakhstan a pole of economic growth and stability in the region, and open for the widest cooperation with our French friends and our neighbors in the region," Abdrakhmanov said at the event.
The head of the Kazakh diplomatic mission also spoke in favor of the idea of creating a new platform for cooperation between Central Asia and the EU - 'Economic development, investment, employment, private sector development'.
