Foreign Ministry: Turkey shocked by criticism by the US

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has sharply reacted to the words of Washington, which urged Ankara to stop bombing Kurdish positions in northern Syria.

"We were shocked by the comments of US State Department spokesman John Kirby, who apparently equated an allied country with the terrorist Party of Democratic Union,'' spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry Tanju Bilgich said.

Ankara made it clear that Turkey would not ask any permission to fight against "any terrorist organization," RIA Novosti reports.
