Foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia begin negotiations in US

A meeting is taking place in Washington between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia with the participation of the US Secretary of State. The ministers came to the US for the NATO summit.

Press Secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Ani Badalyan announced the start of negotiations between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan.

She also noted that American Secretary of State Antony Blinken is taking part in the meeting.

The press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that the negotiations are dedicated to a peace treaty and normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan.

The department added that the meeting between Bayramov and Mirzoyan was organized at the initiative of the US Secretary of State.

Earlier, it was reported that the foreign ministers of the two countries are in Washington, where they are participating in the NATO summit. Later it became known about Baku-Yerevan negotiations.
