German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has invited the foreign ministers of the five other founding members of the European Union to a meeting in Berlin on Saturday to discuss the British situation.
The ministry said in a statement the foreign ministers of Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Luxembourg would discuss "current European policy issues," Reuters reports.
Britain has voted to leave the European Union: according to official data, 51.9% of voters backed Brexit, while the turnout was 72.2%.In total, the referendum was attended by more than 33.5 million people.
