Gabriel: Migration problem tears European Union apart

The European Union can't overcome the migration crisis that began in 2015, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said at a conference in Brussels.

"We are having a hard time coping with the problem of mass migration of people running away from the war or simply in search of a better future. Sometimes it seems that it's tearing the European Union apart," he said.

At the same time, he noted that the countries of the union must overcome differences to maintain their positions in the international arena.
