Today Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, the Head of the Council of Muftis of Russia, has appealed to Muslims to support the Russian military air operation against the terrorist group Islamic State in Syria.
"In this difficult moment in history, I call on my brothers and sisters, dear fellows, do not succumb to the fabrications of the pseudo-ideologists who try to explain the actions of the participants of the coalition of the armed forces of the various countries fighting terrorism as support for one or another part of the Islamic Ummah. On the contrary, we Muslims should positively assess the efforts of Russia and the international community in order to rid countries and continents from the threat of terrorism that brings our humanistic holy religion into disrepute, and not yield to provocations," Gaynutdin said.
