Natural gas reserves have been discovered in the north-west of Turkey, the country's minister of energy and natural resources Fatih Donmez said, the Turkish media reported.
The minister noted that natural gas reserves were found in the vicinity of Istanbul and in Tekirdag province.
Donmez noted that the volumes of natural gas reserves in the mentioned areas are being specified.
The minister of energy and natural resources added that Turkey will continue conducting oil and gas exploration onshore and offshore.
