Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, demonstrated Russia's openness to the Islamic world and paid their respects to it by their visits to Moscow on the eve of the opening of the Cathedral Mosque, the head of the Russian Muftis Council, Ravil Gaynutdin, said.
According to the head of the Russian Muftis Council, the arrival of these politicians in Moscow is "a sign of respect for our people and state."
Gaynutdin also admitted that he is "very proud" that Russian Muslims were able to "re-create our beautiful Moscow Cathedral Mosque," which will hold the first service on the occasion of Eid al-Adha today.
