Georgi Margvelashvili: global problems must be solved on basis of international law

International law should be the basis for cooperation of states in solving global problems, for example, terrorism, the Georgian President Georgi Margvelashvili said, addressing the 5th Global Baku Forum, the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reports.

He noted that cooperation between countries helps maintain not only stability in a single country, but also global stability, which also affects stability in specific states. "Now we are actively participating in the international mission in Afghanistan, in Africa, and we believe that the contribution that we make to these processes makes Georgia more stable," the president explained.

"Thus, facing the problem of terrorism, hybrid wars, superpowers, violation of the rules, we should understand that wherever happens in our global world, it is a threat to the security of every country, which plans to build a more secure future," the head of state stressed.

According to the president, in order to confront this threat, it is necessary to adhere to a clear, not indifferent position, and also believe in the concept of international law, which should serve as a basis for cooperation. According to him, Georgia is conducting such policy in the Transcaucasus. "We are an open partner for Azerbaijan, Turkey and other countries of the region, which are opening new opportunities for cooperation with Georgia and for future promising projects," Georgi Margvelashvili concluded.
