The Anaklia Development Consortium, which is a joint venture of Georgia's TBC Holding LLC and Conti International LLC, has signed a $2.56 billion contract to build and develop a deep-sea port in Anaklia.
The contract will be based on the build-operate-transfer model.
"I want to express hope and confidence of all members of the government that the port will be completed within a specified time. The project will bring tremendous opportunities for Georgia and the entire region, making the new Silk Road concept fully operational," Georgia Business cited the Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili as saying.
