Georgia privatises 38 state-owned assets

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that 38 state-owned assets have already been privatised through the '100 investment projects for business' program.

Speaking at a government meeting, he noted that the project implemented by the Economy Ministry in late November 2019 was successful.

"State-owned assets which are ineffectively distributed among different state agencies or are not identified at all should be involved in the Georgian economy," Agenda.ge cited him as saying.

Gakharia stressed that privatisation is important to create new jobs, to attract new investments and develop the economy.

According to the PM, the list of the assets offered to businesses for privatisation will never be less than 100.
