Georgia's Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze met with the Chairman of the Helsinki Commission, senator Roger Wicker in the US Senate yesterday.
Bakhtadze and Wicker have discussed the political and economic reforms being carried out in Georgia, as well as security challenges in the region, in which Georgia plays an important role.
The Georgian PM thanked the senator for his efforts in preparing bills that have been supportive of Georgia, Agenda.ge reported.
The U.S. senator has positively assessed steps made by Georgia for strengthening security and defence. Wicker also expressed his belief that the upcoming presidential elections will be held in a peaceful and fair environment.
