Georgia will take over the chairmanship of Council of Europe’s (CoE) Committee of Ministers for a six-month term from November 2019 to May 2020, Georgia’s First Vice Parliament Speaker Tamar Chugoshvili said.

The chairmanship will be passed from France to Georgia at a meeting in mid-November 2019 at the CoE’s Strasbourg headquarters. Agenda.ge reported.

Chugoshvili said that a number of high-ranking officials from the CoE member states will be visiting Georgia this year, including the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). She also announced that Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze will travel to Strasbourg to address the PACE spring session on April 10.
