Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Vakhtang Makharoblishvili held a meeting with German politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Franz Josef Jung, the press service of the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
The sides paid attention to the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia and current priorities, as well as regional issues, the report says.
Makharoblishvili stressed the importance of holding a year of Georgian-German friendship to deepen relations between the two peoples.
Franz Josef Jung, in turn, said that Georgia is a successful country in the region due to its impressive progress in democratic development.
He also added that Germany fully supports the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.
