The Parliament of Georgia is considering an amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which allows drivers arrested for driving while intoxicated to pay a fine instead of being deprived of their licenses.
If the bill is passed, citizens who find themselves in a similar situation will be granted a three-month period during which they will have the right to apply to the competent authorities with a request to replace the deprivation of rights to a payment of 700 laris (about $292).
